Coimbatore, 20 September: Tamil Nadu’s startup agency StartupTN is bringing its Impact D2C Roadshow to the city on Saturday, 26 September 2026, with an invite-only D2C Founders’ Impact Mixer for founders, operators and investors building consumer brands. The official poster lists the programme from 11:00 AM onwards; the mixer invitation circulated this week asks guests to join from 6:00 PM for an intimate evening of conversations on scaling D2C businesses.

Attendance is not walk-in. Hosts require RSVP and approval via Luma. KPR College of Arts, Science and Research (Avinashi Road, Arasur) is named as ecosystem partner, with StartupTN as the state partner. The day is powered by Pine Labs Online and AppMaker. Helpline 155343 and www.startuptn.in are printed on the poster.

What the mixer is for

Impact D2C describes the Coimbatore stop as a gathering of people “actively building and backing category-defining brands.” The Luma listing, hosted by Ideas to Impacts Hub, frames the same evening as IMPACT D2C BREW — Coffee. Cocoa. Candid: limited seats, no panel theatre, and host approval before a ticket is issued.

The invitation lists these conversation threads:

  • The ₹10 crore to ₹100 crore founder journey
  • Candid talk on fundraising, growth and brand building
  • Networking among founders, operators and investors
  • Insights on scaling and running sustainable D2C businesses

RSVP: luma.com/th124ngq (approval required). Confirm the exact hall and whether you are expected for the daytime roadshow, the evening mixer, or both, before you travel.

StartupTN in September 2026 — why this stop matters

The Coimbatore mixer lands in the same month that StartupTN publicly welcomed Thiru. Singai G. Ramachandran as Chairman. The agency’s 7 September note describes him as an IIM Ahmedabad and PSG College of Technology alumnus with a consumer, digital-media and D2C track record — including an early campus food venture later acquired, digital properties with a large following, and a health-and-wellness D2C brand. He has also worked with college entrepreneurship networks across Tamil Nadu. A D2C roadshow in Coimbatore is a practical first city visit for that brief: Kongu Nadu already ships pumps, textiles, wet grinders and jewellery; the open question is how many of those operators also build national consumer brands with their own apps, payments stack and equity story.

A world-class incubator promised for Coimbatore

On 1 September, StartupTN said a world-class incubator will be set up in Coimbatore to nurture startups with high market potential. The stated method is to pick social-impact and market problems first, then gather founders who can build solutions, with mentoring, finance and ecosystem support. No campus, budget line or opening date was attached to that note. Founders should treat it as a policy signal, not a room they can walk into next week — and should keep using existing desks at college incubators, TIDEL / ELCOT programmes, and the iTNT Regional Hub at Government College of Technology (GCT) on Thadagam Road, which opened in November 2025 for western Tamil Nadu (Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode and The Nilgiris).

Seed money: from TANSEED 8.0 toward a ₹25 lakh Start Smart Fund

StartupTN’s TANSEED 8.0 round (applications opened in December 2025) offered equity-linked seed support of up to ₹10 lakh generally and ₹15 lakh for green-tech, rural-impact and women-led startups, plus a one-year accelerator, with StartupTN taking a 3% support stake. Eligible companies needed Tamil Nadu registration, StartupTN enrolment and DPIIT recognition.

On 1 September 2026 the agency said early-stage support will be recast as the Tamil Nadu Start Smart Seed Fund, lifting the ceiling to ₹25 lakh. Scheme windows move; founders should read the live form on the StartupTN portal rather than assuming the December 2025 TANSEED 8.0 deadline still applies.

Investor matching continues through TANFUND (tanfund.in), StartupTN’s aggregator of funding partners. Helpline for both agency and TANFUND listings is 155343.

Credit, not only equity

This month StartupTN also ran a Credit Access Meet — Startup Loan Drive, pairing startups and MSMEs with banks on financing options (registration closed 6 September 2026 for the Chennai cycle). That is relevant in Coimbatore, where many D2C brands sit on top of manufacturing units that still need working-capital limits, not only angel cheques. A parallel Coordination Centre for Market Access and Business Development was announced to help startups, with extra attention for women-led and tribal-led ventures.

August recap: aerospace conclave in the city

Coimbatore already hosted the National Aerospace & Aviation Startup Conclave on 19 August 2026 at Nehru Institute of Technology, Kaliyapuram, organised by the Institute of Aeronautics, Astronautics and Aviation (IAAA) with StartupTN – Coimbatore Regional Hub as partner. StartupTN later called the day a landmark for the city’s aerospace and aviation ecosystem, including commercial interest around local airframe work. The D2C mixer is a different crowd — consumer brands, not airframes — but it is the same regional-hub playbook: bring the state agency to a college campus, put local industry in the room, and try to keep the follow-up in Tamil Nadu rather than only in Bengaluru pitch circuits.

What Coimbatore founders should do this week

  1. If you run or back a D2C / consumer brand, request a seat on Luma and wait for host approval — do not assume the 11 AM poster time equals an open campus event.
  2. Prepare a short, honest note on where you sit on the ₹10 crore–₹100 crore path (revenue, not vanity GMV), and what you need: capital, operators, or distribution.
  3. If you are earlier than that, use the same week to check Start Smart / TANSEED eligibility, TANFUND partner lists, and the iTNT Hub at GCT for deep-tech rather than waiting for the promised city incubator to open.
  4. Keep 155343 and startuptn.in as the official channels; social forwards are not scheme letters.
